The forecast for the next week across most of Georgia shows little to no rain except for a chance of showers on Sunday and Sunday night. A cold front will be moving through the state early in the week, and that will bring a blast of colder air to the region. A few scattered areas in the northeast mountains could experience temperatures below freezing, so if you have areas that are frost pockets that freeze earlier than other locations, you should be monitoring them on Wednesday and Thursday morning this week for any frost or freezing weather. After this cold outbreak temperatures are expected to rise again with no additional chance of a frost for at least the next couple of weeks. The tropics have also returned to quiet conditions after Helene and Milton, so they should not affect us either for at least a week. The map below shows temperatures at 2 meters (6 feet) so it could be colder at the surface in low-lying areas.
