We have many great land grant Universities conducting viticulture and enology research and education. This email came across my email from Penn State Extension on shoot thinning. Shoot thinning is essential to reducing canopy crowding to improve airflow and spray penetration. With our high annual rainfall in Georgia and high humidity, this is a crucial task to complete. Now is the time to begin shoot thinning. Please give this article a read, and if you have any questions please contact your County agent. Not all county agents are versed in this process, but have them reach out to someone on the viticulture team and or our specialist. Hope everyone has a great weekend. – Nathan
