Growing grapes in Georgia as in most places in the South and Eastern sections of the United States requires growers to use pesticides to manage disease, insects, and weeds. Producers are asked to use an integrated pest management approach to contain issues that can cause vine stress. Spraying fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides requires users to have a private pesticide license required by the state Department of Agriculture. Spray records should also be kept to ensure proper application of pesticides is being followed to label and may be subject to inspection by the state.
